My Approach

Life is a journey of ups and downs. Sometimes we can figure it out on our own and sometimes we can use a little help. I think that reaching out for help shows courage.

My counselling and psychotherapy focuses on the present and looks toward your future. I do this by really getting to know and understand you. It is an honour and a pleasure to work with you on your goals and concerns.  I offer you my caring concern, my training and my wisdom. I am not hesitant to hear about or discuss any topic or concern with you.

  • I can help with communication skills, getting in touch with your emotions, & affirming your values.
  • I offer tips for dealing with conflict, help for your relationships and dealing with the difficult people in your life.
  • I can help you be less hard on yourself, understand why you do what you do, and offer tools and techniques to help make the decisions and changes that you want.
  • For anxiety, worries, depression, anger or stress I help you to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which focuses on understanding how your thoughts, feelings and behaviours are connected.
  • I might help you to use Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills for helping with stress management and regulating your emotions.
  • I might integrate Eastern practices such as mindfulness, and diaphragmatic breathing to help ease stress and calm your mind and body.
  • We can talk through hard decisions, big changes, and sort out next steps in your life’s journey.

Number of Sessions

The number of sessions varies according to your needs. Weekly, bi-monthly or monthly sessions can help you to understand yourself better, manage your situation, or get ongoing support.

My suggestion is to meet me once per week for four weeks and then spread out the time in-between our sessions. My door always remains open for clients to jump back into therapy.
